Latest and most likely Last Rolex purchase id="post_message_39036"> I did it, yesterday I received a call from my AD telling me that my "M" serial SS Daytona white face was in. I was there in about, lets see, 1/2 a second! I cannot even begin to say how much I love this watch after only 24 hours. I wasn't even sure I would be "lucky" enough to even own one. My AD got me this beauty after only 3 weeks of putting me on the "wait list"!I now know why the Daytona is like a cult object to those who own. Anyone who is considering, I would highly encourage. This however will most likely be my last watch purchase, as it completes "my" Rolex sports package and may start my divorce hearing. I'll send some pics as soon as I can get some worthy of this sight, stiff competition out there. This is most definately a disease!

GMT misaligned hands? id="post_message_202406">I have three Rolexes, one is a new GMT bought in December 08. I have previously had GMTs from Omega and TAG.
The 24 hour hand on the Rolex did not align with the hour indicator when the minute hand was at 1200. There was a good 2-1/2 minutes delay before the 24 hour hand was exactly in line with the hour marker. The watch has been back to the AD three times and to the factory for adjustment. There is still some misaglinment, about 1 minute between the hours of 1200 and 2400 on the 24 hour hand. Going "down" the dial from 2400 to 1200 there does not seem to be any misalignment. I could not see that either my Omega or TAG had the same problem.
Has anyone else experienced this?

The watch is very clearly targeting the Rolex Datejust/Day Date crowed - $23,000.00 retail price.

It has screwed in adjustable links - first I've seen on an Omega. The caliber 8501 is pretty darn impressive and nicely decorated. But thanks to the Co-Axial escapement it's got a wonky beat speed - 25,200 VPH.

Search, and you'll find some interesting threads. It boils down to what you find more interesting - the hesalite crystal and solid back, or the sapphire crystal and display back. Both are good choices.

They have slightly different movements - in the sapphire sandwich, the chrono brake is made of metal; in the solid back, the brake is some type of plastic. Apparently the plastic is more durable (etc) but is not as pleasing to the eye.

You can find both on sales corner with some regularity. That's where I got mine.

To me, this is the answer - it's just too nice to hide!
